Jointly funded by the City of Allen and the school district, this project was charged with facilitating both student swim meets and training as well as the public at-large. Indoor competitive, spa and leisure waters were successfully married into one building. Locker rooms were designed to be both shared and private for the respective user groups. Cardio-fitness, free weight, and group exercise components are also incorporated into the building. Design inspiration derived from the city's rail heritage, resulting in a formal symmetrical plan and contextual detailing.
