The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Regional Crime Lab in Tyler, Texas had long ago outgrown their existing space. Originally conceived as an addition and remodel to the existing DPS office in Tyler, Brinkley Sargent was able to demonstrate that the cost select demolition and multiple moves for the lab personnel was going to push the project cost to near what a new, freestanding facility would cost. The result is a facility that will meet the lab’s needs for decades to come.
